Denmark’s wind power is said to be the world’s best. As of 2015, 42% of the total electricity is used as wind power, and by 2020, it will be increased by 50%.
- Denmark is located on the North Sea coast and have favorable geographical conditions due to the North Atlantic currents and the westerly winds blowing from the Atlantic Ocean.
- Thanks to this technology, they have been developing wind turbines for a long time and there are many wind farms in the sea.
- The people who needed electric power directly created ‘wind power cooperatives‘. In 1993, the people of Middelgrunden gathered for 7 years to build wind farms.
- Currently, 4% of the population in Copenhagen (more than 40,000 households) are producing electricity that they can use.
